Blackhawks' Marc-Andre Fleury Wins 500th Game In Montreal

In Thursday night's game against the Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury recorded his 500th career NHL win. He did it in style, too, as he saved all 30 shots he faced for the shutout.

Fleury has had himself a marvelous career. In 901 career games, the 2003 first overall pick has a 500-286-80 record, 2.55 GAA and .913 SV%. With that, he's a five-time All-Star, three-time Stanley Cup champion and won the Vezina Trophy and William M. Jennings Trophy last season with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Fleury is now the third NHL goaltender to win 500 career games. With that, he's 51 wins away from tying Hall of Fame goaltender Patrick Roy. Even if he does not end passing him by the time he retires, it's been an amazing ride for the 37-year-old.

After a tough start to the season with the Blackhawks, he also has been turning things around well. He now has an 8-10-0 record, 2.79 GAA and .913 SV%. His numbers should continue to improve from here.

Lastly, the Montreal faithful started a Fleury chant for the French Canadian goaltender at the completion of the contest. That was such a classy move by Canadien fans and it was certainly deserved!
