Florida Panthers: 2 Biggest Surprises Of The Season So Far

Every NHL team has now played 20 games this season, so we are starting to get a better understanding of what to expect from them moving forward. There have been certain players who have been big surprises thus far and it feels fair to shine a light on them. In this series, we will be looking at two from each team who certainly can be classified as that.

In this piece, we will be looking at the Florida Panthers. These two players are major reasons for their excellent start thus far. If they continue to play this well moving forward, Florida will surely be in the running for the Stanley Cup this postseason.

Gustav Forsling: Gustav Forsling has taken that next step offensively this season, as he already has 12 assists in just 21 games. To put things more into perspective, the 25-year-old had a respectable 17 points, but in 43 games last season. It seems as though that we have yet to see the best of him and it will be fun to watch how he plays the rest of this season.

Sergei Bobrovsky: After signing his monstrous contract with the Panthers, Sergei Bobrovsky put up back-to-back disappointing seasons. With this, there were low expectations heading into this campaign for him, but he has since regrouped immensely. In 16 games, he has an 11-1-2 record, 2.41 GAA and .920 SV%. It's nice to see that the veteran is finding his game again. Florida is benefiting from it, too, as they have a 17-4-3 record and are first in the Atlantic Division.
