John Tortorella Rips Trevor Zegras' Michigan Pass

The hockey world just cannot stop talking about the remarkable Trevor Zegras and Sonny Milano goal from earlier this week. For those who missed it, Zegras flipped the puck over the net and Milano then batted it in. Although the vast majority of fans love it, there is one person who isn't too happy about it - former NHL head coach John Tortorella.

While on ESPN, Tortorella first noted that the play was an entertaining one that required a lot of skill from both players. Not too many people would disagree with him on that, but then he went on to question if it's "good for the game."

From here, he discussed how hockey has changed "from what it's supposed to be" and that he prefers a hard and honest game. Tortorella clearly isn't a fan of the flashy stuff, but realistically, it's hard to understand how anyone could have a problem with the immense skill that players like Zegras are showing. Furthermore, there's no question that it's bringing in a ton of attention and with that, more individuals will become fans of the sport.

The sport continuing to become flashier doesn't automatically mean that it needs to stop being a hard game, too. Why can't we have both? It isn't like the league is banning hits. Just because players are showing more skill doesn't change that aspect of the sport.

Alas, below is a video of the entire conversation. Do you agree with Torts' opinion on the matter? Let us know in the comments!
