Maple Leafs Without Star Forward For Game Against Wild

The Toronto Maple Leafs will have defenseman Morgan Rielly and forward Ondrej Kase in the lineup for their game against the Minnesota Wild, but one of their stars will not be. Mitch Marner did not participate in warmup, so the Leafs have a big hole in their offense for the contest.

Marner left Toronto's practice early on Friday after a collision with teammate Jake Muzzin. Following it, head coach Sheldon Keefe noted that it was a precautionary decision and the injury didn't seem serious. However, it now is keeping the 24-year-old out of action for at least one game.

After a slow start to the season, Marner has turned it on immensely since. In 24 games, he now has six goals and 21 points. Here's to hoping the star winger is able to come back to the team soon, as it's extremely hard to replace that kind of production in the lineup.
