Montreal Canadiens Provide Update On Tyler Toffoli

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that Tyler Toffoli had hand surgery earlier this week and will be out of action for the next eight weeks.
Nothing is going right for the Canadiens this season and Toffoli's long-term injury just adds to that. Although the Canadiens have a 6-19-3 record and the playoffs are a massive longshot, it still is always tough to lose one of your best players for that long of a time period.

Although a lot of Montreal's roster is struggling mightily this season, Toffoli has been well offensively again. In 26 games, he has five goals and is second in points with 17. It will be hard for Montreal to replace in their lineup, as the majority of their other players aren't close to his level of production this year.

Toffoli's absence could make the Canadiens struggle even more from here. I guess that isn't the worst thing at the end of the day, however, as they should be able to draft a very good first-round pick in this year's draft.
