Montreal Canadiens Provide Update Regarding Josh Anderson
When the Montreal Canadiens originally announced that forward Josh Anderson was going to miss time, they said it would be for two-to-four weeks. Yet, things have gotten far worse, as the team has provided an update that he won't be back for eight weeks.
This news comes after the team shared that Christian Dvorak is out indefinitely because of a lower-body injury. Now with this, Anderson will be out for much longer than originally anticipated and it's hard not to feel bad for him. When looking at the plethora of injuries the Canadiens are currently dealing with, it's fair to say that the injury bug is hitting them immensely hard.
Anderson is certainly a notable loss to the lineup, too, as he's one of Montreal's top forwards. In 25 games this season, he has a team-leading seven goals and 13 points, which is good for fourth on the roster. When seeing as how Dvorak and Tyler Toffoli are out as well, the Canadiens have major holes with their forward group. That doesn't even include the fact that Carey Price and Joel Edmundson are also unable to play at this juncture.
When seeing as how Montreal has a 6-21-3 record already, it's pretty safe to say that they should be landing themselves a good pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft. All of these injuries to key players are just brutal.
