Montreal Canadiens Share Their Plan Regarding Head Coach

At this time, the Montreal Canadiens have a 6-17-2 record. Due to this horrible start, many fans have been wondering about head coach Dominique Ducharme's job security. Jeff Gorton addressed this Friday morning to the media and stated that Ducharme will be staying with the team for the rest of the season.

The Canadiens have been going through a ton of major changes, as they fired GM Marc Bergevin, assistant GM Trevor Timmons and senior vice president of public affairs and communications Paul Wilson. Yet, Ducharme won't suffer the same fate during the regular season and now will have the chance to help Montreal get back on track - even if the postseason is likely out of the question.

Ducharme took over the head coaching job last season when the Canadiens fired Claude Julien from the role. So far as head coach, Ducharme has a 21-33-9 record, which obviously isn't outstanding. However, he became permanent coach after shockingly leading the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final. That run will forever be something that Montreal fans remember.

It will be interesting to see how the Canadiens do from here under Ducharme.
