Montreal Canadiens To Be Without Two Players
The Montreal Canadiens will be without two more players, as Brendan Gallagher and Sami Niku have both entered COVID Protocol. Furthermore, they each have been deemed as asymptomatic, according to head coach Dominique Ducharme.
This is certainly bad timing for the Canadiens, as they are playing the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night. Even after their blowout 8-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, they are still a very difficult team to go up against. Both players are asymptomatic, according to Dominique Ducharme. https://t.co/xttUVXQ3KO

In 23 games this season, Gallagher has four goals, 10 points and a minus-3 rating. Although that's a slow start for his standards, he is still tied for fifth on the team in scoring. With that, he is also one of Montreal's alternate captains, so his leadership will be missed while he's out.
Niku may not have as a big of a role as Gallagher on the Canadiens, but for the most part, he's done pretty well with his new team. In nine games, he has three assists and a notable plus-2 rating. He's one of the few players on Montreal who doesn't have a minus rating at this juncture.
Here's to hoping these two are able to return to the lineup soon.
