New Jersey Devils To Be Without Two Players

The New Jersey Devils have announced that goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood is out with a neck injury, while P.K. Subban has been placed in COVID-19 protocol.

Blackwood's injury is expected to be a short-term one, as it's been labeled as day-to-day. However, he did not join the Devils on their trip to Detroit for Saturday night's game. For a team looking to turn around their season, losing their starting goalie is certainly not a good thing. In 16 games this season, he has a 5-6-3 record, 3.14 GAA and .902 save percentage.

Due to the fact that Subban has been placed in protocol, he will be out for longer than just Saturday's game. The 32-year-old defenseman has been having a decent year offensively, as he has scored two goals and recorded 11 points in 27 games thus far. With this, it's fair to state that he's another notable loss for New Jersey.

Here's to hoping that both Blackwood recovers from his injury and Subban feels better very soon.
