NHL Rumors: Carolina Hurricanes Making Trade Offers

The Carolina Hurricanes are going to be contending for the Stanley Cup this season as they're off to a blazing start. Management has never been shy to make moves and according to Emily Kaplan of ESPN, the team is currently trying to acquire a defenseman.

Kaplan points out we can look back at the team's history about getting involved in major trades and specifically the Jack Eichel sweepstakes. There's no doubt the team is open to making deals and the Hurricanes have a variety of talent they can pull from to construct a huge trade.

Some of Carolina's players who could be shipped out include Nino Niederreiter, Jesper Fast and prospect Ryan Suzuki. The team has been led by the steady play for netminder Frederik Andersen and their buy-in to playing defensive-first hockey.

A few teams the Hurricanes could target for help on their blueline include the Arizona Coyotes and Seattle Kraken. Names like Anton Stralman, Shayne Gostisbehere, and Mark Giordano are all available for the right price. Because of the offer sheet compensation to the Montreal Canadiens, it's much more likely the Hurricanes include a couple of prospects and an NHL player as appose to any draft picks.

Keep an eye on the Hurricanes, they are active in trade talks and a deal could get done before Christmas.
