NHL Rumors: Evander Kane Getting Traded in 3-Way Deal
The San Jose Sharks are working the phones trying to find a suitor for Evander Kane. The team has made it known to other clubs they are willing to retain half of Kane's $7-million annual salary. Interest has been very high in making a deal as there's reports a third team could be involved to bring Kane's salary down ever more for the acquiring team.
While Kane is a productive player at $7 million, he's an absolute steal of a deal at $1.75 million per year for the next three seasons. If two other teams get involved with the Sharks, they can essentially retain 50% and then the next team retain 50%, bringing Kane's contract hit down to a very reasonable amount for someone who scored 49 points in 56 games.
Emily Kaplan of ESPN weighed in on the trade buzz surrounding Kane and had this to say:

The Sharks continue to have dialogue with several teams and the Pittsburgh Penguins are one team to watch for. They have reportedly had interest in adding Kane and have a solid leadership group in place to hopefully keep things in line for the polarizing forward.
For now, Kane will be riding the bus in the AHL, trying to get back into game shape and will be waiting for his agent to call with some good news.
