NHL Rumors: New York Rangers Looking To Make 2 Upgrades

At this time, the New York Rangers have a 19-7-4 record and are a legitimate playoff team. However, according to Arthur Staple, they aren't fully content with their current roster, as they want to add a veteran bottom-pair defenseman and a right winger.

It isn't too surprising to hear that the Rangers want another veteran on the blue line. It would give them more insurance, especially if they don't trust rookie Nils Lundkvist for a deep playoff run just yet. Furthermore, it's never a bad thing to add more depth to back end.

With Sammy Blais done for the season, it makes sense that they want a right winger, too. There were rumblings that they were on the hunt for a middle-six winger, but those talks started to die down as the season continued. Yet, it appears that they are back on and even more specific this go-around.

Ultimately, the Rangers looking to strengthen their roster makes sense. Once this holiday break ends, perhaps we could even see them make a deal quickly.
