Penguins Forward Out Week-To-Week
The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that forward Jason Zucker will be out week-to-week because of a lower-body injury.
Zucker has struggled significantly this season for the Penguins so far. In 30 games played, he has just four goals to go along with seven assists. This just isn't strong enough production from a player who is viewed as a top-six forward. One has to wonder if this injury has been impacting him all season. Keep in mind, he has taken maintenance days.
This was supposed to be a bounce back campaign for Zucker, but it just hasn't been working thus far. He had only 18 points in 38 games last season, which also was low for his standards. He also has been in the rumor mill because of all of this.
With the rise of COVID-19 cases around the league, it stings for Zucker to be injured right now. Pittsburgh has dealt with issues from the virus and are set to return to play on December 31st against the Ottawa Senators. Sadly, though, the 29-year-old winger won't be joining them.
Here's to hoping Zucker has a speedy recovery and finds his old form once he returns.
