Seattle Kraken Lose Two Players to Injured Reserve

The Seattle Kraken can't stay healthy as they have made a couple more roster moves on Wednesday. Goaltender Chris Driedger and forward Calle Jarnkrok are the two latest Kraken to be unavailable due to injury.

While Jarnkrok and Driedger go down, the team has recalled goalie Joey Daccord and forward Kole Lind from the Charlotte Checkers.

Both Driedger and Jarnkrok were injured this week and it hasn't been a great start for either of them with their new team. Driedger is coming off a monster season with the Florida Panthers that landed him a nice three-year deal at $3.5 million per season. So far in five games, the 27-year-old netminder has posted a 3.60 GAA and a .876 save %. Far cry from the 2.06 GAA and .927 save % he put up last season in 23 games for the Panthers.

As for Jarnkrok, he's known for his checking style and was a big part of the Nashville Predators for the last eight seasons. So far in his 14 games with the Kraken he's tallied one goal and one assist. His best season came back in 2019-20 when he recorded 34 points in 64 games for the Preds. Jarnkrok is a pending unrestricted free agent, look for him, if he does get healthy enough in time, be dealt at the trade deadline by Seattle for an asset or two. Driedger on the other hand is sticking around long-term so the team is hopeful he can get his game back on track here in the near future.
