Senators Top Prospect Leaves School And Signs ELC
Tyler Boucher is leaving Boston University, as he has signed an entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators. With that, he will be loaned to the Ottawa 67's of the OHL.
Boucher was selected by the Senators with the 10th overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Therefore, he is viewed as one of their top prospects. Now that he's going to be playing juniors in the same city, they will have more opportunities to track his progression firsthand.
During his short tenure with BU, Boucher did struggle to produce offense. In 17 games, he had just two goals and an assist. Yet, he was also very active in the physical side of the game, as he sported a whopping 34 penalty minutes. Ottawa may have another agitator on their hands with this one.
Although he wasn't dominant in college, he now has plenty of time to develop as a player in juniors. It will be interesting to see how he performs from here.
