St. Louis Blues: 2 Biggest Surprises Of The Season So Far

Every NHL team has now played 20 games this season, so we are starting to get a better understanding of what to expect from them moving forward. There have been certain players who have been big surprises thus far and it feels fair to shine a light on them. In this series, we will be looking at two from each team who certainly can be classified as that.

In this piece, we will be discussing the St. Louis Blues. It's been a pretty solid campaign for the Blues, as they sport a 15-8-4 record. These two forwards have been major reasons for their success thus far and deserve some time in the limelight.

Jordan Kyrou: Jordan Kyrou cemented himself as a legitimate NHLer last season, as he had 14 goals and 35 points in 55 games. Yet, this season he's taken an even bigger step in his development. In 27 games, he has nine goals and a team-leading 25 points. Although there certainly was a lot of optimism following him heading into this campaign, he wasn't expected to perform this marvelously. It will be awesome if he keeps it up from here.

Robert Thomas: Robert Thomas isn't too far behind Kyrou this season, as he has two goals and a whopping 20 assists in just 24 contests. This comes after a season where he had just three goals and 12 points in 33 games. Although he definitely was a bounce back candidate heading into the season, he has exceeded expectations and is on pace for a career year. That's nice to see from the 22-year-old forward.
