St. Louis Blues Bring In Goaltender
The St. Louis Blues are adding to their depth in net, as they have signed goaltender Jon Gillies to a one-year, two-way contract.

It isn't too surprising to see that the Blues are bringing in a goalie. Both Jordan Binnington and Ville Husso are out for differing reasons. Binnington is currently in COVID protocol, while Husso left Tuesday night's game against the Florida Panthers early with an injury.
Gillies has had a whirlwind of a season already so far. The 27-year-old initially signed a PTO with the New York Islanders, but ended up being cut during training camp. He then signed with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL, before later signing PTOs with both the Providence Bruins and Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Let's just say, he's been traveling a lot this young season. Yet, now St. Louis' goalie trouble could allow him to suit up as a backup for them while they wait for the others to return.
This isn't the first time Gillies has ever signed with the St. Louis Blues, either. During the 2020 offseason, he signed another one-year, two-way deal with the franchise. He did not, however, ever play a game with the NHL team.
In 12 career NHL games with the Calgary Flames, Gillies has a 4-5-1 record, 2.71 GAA and .903 SV%.
