Toronto Maple Leafs To Terminate Forward's Contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Kirill Semyonov on waivers for the purpose of contract termination. With that, it seems very likely that the 27-year-old will be returning to the KHL.
Semyonov was held off the scoresheet in his three games with the Leafs. Yet, the sample size was simply too small to actually judge his overall ability.Or, better to say contract termination

Semyonov was fantastic with the Toronto Marlies, though, as he had a goal and nine points in nine games. He certainly could have been a good depth piece for the Leafs to have for the remainder of the season. Who knows? Maybe if he stuck around longer, he could have secured himself a spot in the team's bottom-six.
In 377 career games in the KHL, Semyonov has 70 goals, 99 assists and 169 points. With that, the two-way center has a plus-27 rating. We'll have to wait and see where he ends up signing from here, but I wouldn't count out his last team - Avangard Omsk.
