Toronto Maple Leafs Weekend Games Postponed
For those of you who were excited to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs play back-to-back nights this weekend, we have some bad news. Both Saturday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks and Sunday's versus the Seattle Kraken have been postponed.
Tomorrow's visit to Seattle is postponed too. The only other #leafs game currently scheduled before the NHL's holiday break is Thursday afternoon vs. St. Louis at home. https://t.co/8cPg2Q1Yiu

When looking at the rise of COVID-19 cases, it isn't too surprising to see these decisions being made. At this juncture, the Canucks have six players in COVID protocol, while the Leafs have four. These numbers are likely to go up due to how contagious the virus is, too. Furthermore, playing would have put Seattle players at risk to catch it, too.
Teams with the most players in COVID protocol (updated):

Calgary - 19
Florida - 8
Nashville - 8
Boston - 7
Carolina - 6
Vancouver - 6
New Jersey - 5
Edmonton - 5
Detroit - 5
Colorado - 5
Toronto - 4
With these matchups postponed, the Maple Leafs have only one game scheduled before the Christmas break. On Thursday night, they are currently set to play the St. Louis Blues on the road. However, time will tell if this game ends up being postponed, too.
Nevertheless, keep an eye out. More games around the league are inevitably going to be rescheduled from here.
