Two More Teams Shut Down Until After Holiday Break

The NHL has already shut down the Florida Panthers, Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche until after the holiday break. Now, due to their rising COVID-19 cases, both the Nashville Predators and Boston Bruins have been shut down as well.

For the Predators, they will have three games postponed. They are as followed:

  • December 19th @ Carolina Hurricanes
  • December 21st vs. Winnipeg Jets
  • December 23rd @ Florida Panthers
The Bruins, on the other hand, have one new game postponed - December 20th's contest against the Ottawa Senators. The league already postponed Saturday night's game against the Montreal Canadiens and December 23rd's contest against the Avalanche on Friday.

Ultimately, it isn't shocking at all to see these two teams being shut down. At this juncture, Boston now has nine players in COVID-19 protocol, as forwards Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar entered on Saturday. The Predators also have eight players on it. It's very likely that these numbers will go up for each team, too.

There's a very good chance that more teams will be shut down shortly with this many players getting sick. We'll have to wait and see on that front.
