Two Players Placed On Waivers

The Edmonton Oilers have placed forward Brendan Perlini on waivers. The Columbus Blue Jackets have opted to do the same thing with defenseman Scott Harrington.

After a strong season with HC Ambri-Piotta of the National League, Perlini came back to the NHL on a one-year, $750,000 contract with the Oilers. The 25-year-old winger played especially well during the preseason, but his hot start did not translate to the regular season. In 13 contests with the Oilers, the 2014 first-round pick has no points and a minus-4 rating.

Harrington is in his sixth season with the Columbus Blue Jackets and has primarily been a depth defenseman these last handful of years. In six games this season, he has an assist and a minus-4 rating. It's also very important to note that he has not appeared in a game since Columbus' October 31st contest against the New Jersey Devils.

It will be interesting to see if either of these players are claimed. Teams are always looking for depth and these two each have a good amount of NHL experience.
