Vancouver Canucks Fan Throws Jersey On Ice
With the Vancouver Canucks on the verge of losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a 4-1 score, a fan threw their jersey on the ice out of pure frustration. Brian Dumoulin would later pick the jersey up with his stick and give it to a fan in the stands. That was certainly a classy gesture by the 30-year-old defenseman.
It is extremely understandable that Canuck fans are livid with the team right now. After a busy offseason to try to get things back on track, they've taken another monstrous step backwards. At this time, they have an 8-15-2 record and are at the bottom of the Pacific Division.
This jersey throw wasn't the only way fans let their frustrations known. Many at Rogers Arena began chanting "Fire Benning" in the final minute of the contest. At this time, the team has not listened to their requests.
As the season continues, it wouldn't be surprising at all to see more fans do this. Yet, fans should remember that those Adidas jerseys don't come cheap.
