Video: Alex Ovechkin Scores 750th NHL Goal
In Saturday night's contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin made history yet again. The 36-year-old winger scored his 750th career goal with a perfectly placed shot past goaltender Daniil Tarasov.
Ovechkin is now the 4th player to ever reach this monstrous milestone, as Jaromir Jagr (766), Gordie Howe (801) and of course Wayne Gretzky (894) all did during their remarkable careers. With his goal last night, Ovechkin is now only 16 away from tying Jagr. He'll surely hit that before season's end.
Even with Ovechkin getting older, he's been ridiculously stellar this season so far. In 25 games, he already has 20 goals and 39 points. With that, he's second in goals behind Leon Draisaitl and third in points behind Draisaitl and Connor McDavid.
Nonetheless, congrats to Alex on this legendary achievement!
