Video: Avalanche And Panthers End Game With Scrum
After the final buzzer rang between the Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers, the action did not stop. While leaving the penalty box, Mikko Rantanen slashed MacKenzie Weegar after the latter waved his stick at Darren Helm's face. From here, the teams got together in a heated scrum.
This game was an eventful one throughout that was full of physicality. Without much surprise, both teams had bad blood toward one another at its completion, and the actions of both Weegar and Rantanen showed that perfectly.
It's a shame that these two teams do not play one another for the rest of the regular season. Although they are in two different conferences, they looked like legitimate rivals in this contest. Yet, there is hope we could see them play against one another in the postseason, as they each are viewed as legitimate contenders. Could we see a rematch of the 1996 Stanley Cup Final? Perhaps.
The Avalanche defeated the Panthers by a 3-2 final score. With this, Colorado now has a 16-7-2 record, while the Panthers are 18-5-4.
