Video: Avalanche's Burakovsky Records Hat Trick
In Sunday night's matchup against the Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche forward Andre Burakovsky had an excellent performance and recorded a hat trick. All three of his goals were very nice ones, so it's clear that the winger was feeling it during this contest.
Burakovsky's significance to this game was massive, as he scored all three goals for the Avalanche, including the eventual game-winner. It's been another strong campaign for the 26-year-old thus far, as he now has 12 goals and 20 points in 24 games. Over his last two games, however, he scored a whopping five goals. Thus, he's getting hot at the perfect time for the Avalanche. Keep in mind, Gabriel Landeskog will be out for the next two weeks, so Burakovsky will be getting first-line minutes.
If Burakovsky keeps having games like this one, he should land himself a big raise from his current $4.9 million cap hit this offseason. He is eligible for unrestricted free agency at season's end, so Colorado will certainly be trying to find a way to keep him around.
Nevertheless, what a performance from Andre!
