Video: Avalanche's Cale Makar Scores Remarkable Goal

In Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar scored a fantastic goal due to a remarkable individual effort. The 23-year-old took the puck from behind his net and then skated by each of his opponents before beating Martin Jones top shelf. 

Makar is continuing to be dominant this season, as he now has 11 goals and 22 points in just 19 games. That kind of production is spectacular, especially when it's coming from a defenseman. The Avalanche have to be ecstatic about the six-year, $54 million contract they gave him right now, as he's living up to it with ease.

If Makar continues to produce like this as the season continues, there's no question that he will be in the running for the Norris Trophy. Who knows? Maybe he will be the first defenseman to score 30 goals in a season since Mike Green did back with the Washington Capitals during the 2008-09 campaign.
