Video: Avalanche's MacDermid Fights Rangers' Reaves

In Tuesday night's game between the New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche, the fans were gifted with a heavyweight bout. Ryan Reaves and Kurtis MacDermid dropped the gloves and it was certainly an entertaining tilt.

When looking at these two players, it's not surprising in the slightest that it had some hard punches. Both of them aren't afraid of engaging in fisticuffs and are known for being quite skilled at it in the process.

If a winner had to be picked in this one, it's hard to say it wasn't MacDermid. The 6'5" defenseman was able to get in more shots, while also successfully landing the takedown. That's not a jab at Reaves, either, as he did get in a few good punches himself.

It wasn't surprising to see the Avalanche and Rangers play very physically, as there was some bad blood between the two teams heading into the contest. Jacob Trouba threw a huge, but clean hit on Nathan MacKinnon last week, so this was to be expected. It's a shame that these two teams do not play one another against this season. Maybe, perhaps, we will see them in the Stanley Cup Final.
