Video: Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews Scores First Of Season
In his 26th game of the season, Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews finally broke the ice and scored his first goal. Seth Jones set him up with a beautiful pass and the 33-year-old center perfectly tipped it in.
Toews missed the entirety of the 2020-21 season after being diagnosed with Chronic Immune Response Syndrome. It was a long road back for the franchise center, so it's fair to state that this goal seemed extra special to see.
In 26 games on the season thus far, he has now a goal and 10 points. Although he is producing far less than previously, his struggles are understandable with how much time he had to miss. As the season progresses, it would not be surprising at all to see him contribute more similarly to how he did in the past.
Nonetheless, congrats to Jonathan for getting that much-needed first goal!
