Video: Blues' Nathan Walker Records Hat Trick
Nathan Walker made his season debut for the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings. He certainly showed his appreciation for the call-up, as he recorded his first career hat trick with three nice goals.
This is a historic moment for the NHL, too, as Walker is the first Australian player to record a hat trick in league history. Perhaps after a performance like this, the Blues may want to keep the 27-year around a bit longer.
Walker has been playing very well this season with the Springfield Thunderbirds. In 19 games, he has six goals and 17 points. At the AHL level, he has been a consistent point-producer, but hasn't been given a prolonged chance in the NHL yet. In 26 total games over five seasons, he now has six goals and eight points.
Here's to hoping Nathan sticks around with the Blues and has more hat tricks in store from here!
