Video: Canadiens' Harvey-Pinard Scores First NHL Goal
Rafael Harvey-Pinard made his NHL debut with the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. It's fair to say he made a good first impression, as he scored his first NHL goal after beating Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Maxime Lagace on the one-timer.
Harvey-Pinard was selected by the Canadiens in the seventh-round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 5'9" winger has been producing well this season with the Laval Rocket, as he has five goals and 14 points in 24 games. In 36 games last season with the Rocket, he also had himself a 20-point campaign.
Due to the Canadiens being hit extremely hard with COVID-19, much like most teams in the NHL, it opened the door for Harvey-Pinard to get his first taste of NHL action. Although there's a good chance he will end up back in Laval when Montreal gets healthier, if he keeps scoring goals like this one, he could stick around longer.
Nevertheless, congrats on your first goal, Rafael!
