Video: Canucks' Demko Makes Ridiculous Glove Save
Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko made another remarkable save in Friday night's contest against the Winnipeg Jets. After a perfect feed from Kyle Connor, Blake Wheeler had a prime scoring chance. Yet, Demko stretched out and made a beautiful glove save to rob Wheeler on the one-timer.
Demko has made multiple highlight reel caliber saves this season and we are very likely to see more of them from here. Although the Canucks are in the bottom half of the NHL standings, the 26-year-old goaltender has done his job to keep them in games. At this time, he sports an 11-11-1 record, 2.73 GAA and .915 SV%. If he was not around for Vancouver, they would be in a far worse spot than they already are now.
This save would end up being an important one, too. Had that puck went in, the Canucks would not have gone to overtime and instead lost in regulation. Yet, they would defeat the Jets in the shootout. With this, they secured their third straight win and have yet to lose since Bruce Boudreau took over as head coach.
Nevertheless, this was a wonderful stop from Demko and one all hockey fans should enjoy!
