Video: Capitals' Tom Wilson Scores 100th Career Goal
In his 595th NHL game on Monday night, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson scored his 100th career goal. He certainly should be thanking teammate Justin Schultz for it, as the 31-year-old defenseman set him up with a beautiful pass.
Although Wilson is known for being a very controversial player on the ice, there's no denying that he's also quite good. He's off to an excellent start this season, too, as he has nine goals and 24 points in 26 games. If he keeps this kind of production up moving forward, it will be a career-year for him.
At the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the Capitals selected Wilson with the 16th overall pick. Although he was primarily a bottom-six forward his first four seasons in the league, he has blossomed into a legitimate top-six forward. With that, he of course has been a real force physically, so he's an immensely important piece to Washington's lineup.
Nevertheless, congrats on 100 goals, Tom!
