Video: Kings' Alexander Edler Scores 100th Career Goal
In his 947th NHL game Thursday night, defenseman Alexander Edler scored his 100th career goal. It was a very nice one from the 35-year-old, too, as he wristed it right past Calgary Flames' goaltender Jacob Markstrom.
Edler was stuck on goal number 99 for a long time, as it took him 80 games to reach this milestone. However, he finally has it and it's a big accomplishment for a defenseman.
Edler has done an excellent job in his first season with the Kings, too. In 22 games on the season, he now has a goal and 10 points. With that, he has stayed defensively sound, as he sports a plus-7 rating. One could even argue that it's been a bounce-back campaign for the veteran defenseman. In 52 games last season with the Vancouver Canucks, he had only eight assists in 52 games.
Nonetheless, congrats on getting your 100th goal, Alexander!
