Video: Kings' Brendan Lemieux Sprayed With Water After Goal

After beating Minnesota Wild goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen, Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux naturally skated towards his bench to celebrate with his teammates. However, things didn't go as smoothly as usual, as Marcus Foligno sprayed water at the winger. Furthermore, Brandon Duhaime also stuck his stick out from the bench, but Lemieux successfully avoided it by ducking.

It's pretty safe to say that Lemieux had gotten under the Wild's skin, which isn't surprising in the slightest given the way he plays. He also seemed to be chirping the Wild bench before the incidents occurred. At this juncture, he is clearly one of the most disliked players in the sport, especially after biting Brady Tkachuk. Lemieux is a prime example of an agitator just like his father Claude was during his playing days. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, am I right?

Lemieux ended up getting the last laugh, though, as this goal ended up being the eventual game-winner. With this win, the Kings now have 12-10-4 record and are inching closer to getting back into playoff contention. Besides his suspension, Brendan also has been providing decent depth scoring in the bottom-six. He now has five goals and an assist in 15 contests.

It will be interesting to see if NHL Player Safety decides to fine Foligno for spraying water at Lemieux. In the past, the NHL has done this, but we'll see what occurs.
