Video: Maple Leafs' Spezza Scores Goal From Impossible Angle
The Toronto Maple Leafs may have lost to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night but Jason Spezza put on a show. The veteran "vintage" forward scored two goals and added one assist, including one snipe from no-mans land.
Spezza started the night on the fourth line and had such a strong game he ended up seeing a ton of time on the first line. For someone almost 40 years old, to be on pace for 28 goals is truly something special. Throw in the fact he's making league minimum at $750,000 and it's just a fairytale story line for the Maple Leafs.
The unfortunate news about Saturday's game however is the fact Spezza was slashed in the hand late in the game and did not return for overtime or the shootout. The team awaits word on his injury.
