Video: Penguins' Jake Guentzel Records Hat Trick
Pittsburgh Penguins winger Jake Guentzel had a spectacular second period in Saturday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks. The 27-year-old forward scored three goals to successfully record a hat trick.
These goals were immensely important, as they ultimately would lead to Pittsburgh's victory. Guentzel tied the game, gave the Penguins the lead and then provided a much-needed insurance goal to make the score 3-1. He even added an assist on Sidney Crosby's third period goal. Thus, it was simply a superb performance from Guentzel.
Guentzel has been on fire as of late, too, as he currently is on a 12-game point streak. During that stretch, he has a whopping 10 goals and six assists. On the season, he now has 13 goals and 24 points in 23 games.
It will be interesting to see how he performs from here because it seems that the star winger just cannot be stopped right now.
