Video: Senators' Brady Tkachuk Scores First Career Hat Trick

In Sunday afternoon's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk scored his first career hat trick.

Although one of his goals was an empty-netter, it's still a nice accomplishment for Tkachuk. Not every NHL player ends up scoring a hat trick in their career and the 22-year-old just so happened to against the back-to-back Stanley Cup champs. Furthermore, he was a major reason why the Senators defeated the Lightning by a 4-0 final score. Not too many hockey fans would have predicted this outcome, either.

Since signing his seven-year, $57.5 million contract in October, Tkachuk has truly taken his offensive game to a new level. In 22 games, he now has 11 goals and 21 points. With that, he's just as aggressive as ever, as he also has a whopping 54 penalty minutes.

Nevertheless, congrats on your first hat trick, Brady!
