Video: Wild's Talbot Turns Puck Over And Allows Soft Goal
In Monday night's game between the Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars, Cam Talbot made some pretty notable mistakes. First, when trying to get the puck up the ice, he turned it over to Esa Lindell. From here, the 27-year-old defenseman would skate back into the offensive zone and softly shoot the puck on goal. Yet, it still went on to beat Talbot five-hole.
To make matters worse for Talbot, this was a short-handed goal. Yet, it was an ice-breaker for Lindell, as it was his first goal of the season. The Swedish defenseman had played 28 contests without one, so it's nice to see him get some luck for a change.
This game was certainly a wacky one, as it would end with the Stars defeating the Wild by a 7-4 final score. It wasn't the best of starts for Talbot, as he allowed six goals on just 28 shots in the loss. Yet, one bad game isn't the end of the world, as he's been having a strong season otherwise. In 23 games, he has a 15-7-1 record, 2.83 GAA and .914 SV%. Thus, he should bounce back from here.
With this win, the Dallas Stars now have a 15-12-2 record. As for the Wild, they now have lost four straight and have a 19-9-2 record. Yet, even with their rough stretch, they still are first place in the Central Division.
