Wild Video: Spezza Knees Pionk In the Head After Pionk Knees Sandin

In a rare sight Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jason Spezza delivered one of the grossest knees you will ever see, right to the side of Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk's head. The play occurred just seconds after Pionk knocked Maple Leafs defenseman Rasmus Sandin out with a knee of his own.

The Jets/Maple Leafs game on Sunday was a wild affair that was chippy, dirty, and had a ton of bad blood boil over from last season. Pierre-Luc Dubois and Neil Pionk are now public enemy #1 and #2 in Toronto, and Pionk especially looked like he injured Sandin for the long-term.

The original knee on the play was completely knee-on-knee on Sandin and it was ugly. There was no penalty called on the play.

Leafs Nation can expect to hear by Tuesday afternoon the length of time Sandin is going to be out, meanwhile the NHL's Player Safety department is going to be reviewing both Spezza and Pionk's plays on this sequence:
