3 Buffalo Sabres To Miss Time

Buffalo Sabres head coach Don Granato has announced that multiple players will be missing time. Colin Miller will be out for the next six weeks after having surgery. Vinnie Hinostroza will miss at least three weeks, while Malcolm Subban is done for the season after having surgery, too.

This is tough news for the Sabres, as two out of these three players are viewed as rental candidates from them for the trade deadline. Miller and Hinostroza are likely to be dealt, as playoff teams would surely like to have them for their runs. We will have to see if their injuries impact things at all.

Miller has been having a solid year this season. In 32 games, he has two goals, 10 assists, and a minus-2 rating. This is good to see from the 29-year-old, as he had struggled over the last two seasons with the Sabres. Once he can return, he will aim to build on his strong play.

Hinostroza has been a nice bargain for the Sabres this season. Although he signed a cheap contract with them during the offseason, he's been an excellent fit. In 36 games, he has eight goals and 17 points. That is very solid production from the 27-year-old. Here's to hoping he can return in three weeks and not be sidelined for even longer.

Subban was acquired by the Sabres from the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this season. It opened the door for him to play at the NHL level again, but now, he sadly won't have the chance to again this campaign. In four games, he had a 0-2-1 record, 4.85 goals-against average, and 871 save percentage.
