Big Help On The Way For Flyers

Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny, and Justin Braun have all exited COVID-19 protocol and should be good to go for Thursday night's game against the Boston Bruins.

This is big news for the Flyers. At this juncture of the season, they have a 13-15-7 record and are trying to climb themselves back into the playoff picture. The Bruins currently hold the second Wild Card spot, so this is a good opportunity for them to inch a little closer to them.

Provorov has been Philadelphia's top defenseman yet again this season, and that's still the case even if his offensive production is a little lower than usual. In 32 games, he has four goals and leads Flyers defenseman in points with 13. He's certainly the kind of player they need back against the red-hot Bruins.

Konecny has been missed in Philadelphia's lineup, and it's great that he's on the verge of returning. In 33 games this season, he has five goals and 14 helpers. This is a little bit underwhelming for his standards, as he just had a 61-point campaign in 66 games during the 2019-20 season. Thus, he's a bounce-back candidate from here and Thursday could maybe spark it.

Although Braun may not be as flashy as Provorov and Konecny, his defense-first nature will be welcomed back happily in the lineup. The 34-year-old has been having a solid campaign, as he has two goals, nine points, and an even rating in 35 contests.
