Carey Price Opens Up About Playing Future
When speaking to reporters, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price noted that he still hopes to play this season.
Price had knee surgery this past July and is still recovering from it. The team initially believed that he would be able to return for the beginning of the regular season. Yet, it became clear that the 34-year-old needed more time to recover from his injury. Furthermore, he also entered the NHLPA's Player Assistance Program in October and later returned to the team in November.
Price was inching closer to returning but had a notable setback earlier this month. Due to this, he has restarted his injury rehab. This makes him returning to the team this season not guaranteed.
At this juncture of the campaign, the Canadiens have an 8-29-7 record and have won just one out of their last 10 games. Although getting Price back would be amazing for both him and the team, they also aren't in a place where they need to rush the future Hockey Hall of Famer back. Yet, Jake Allen is also currently sidelined and the Sam Montembeault-Cayden Primeau tandem is struggling mightily.
If Price has it his way, we will see the superstar back in net for the Canadiens this season. We will find out soon if this does come to fruition.
