New Jersey Devils Star Defenseman Moved To IR
When the New Jersey Devils play the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night, they will be without top defenseman Dougie Hamilton. The 28-year-old has been diagnosed with a broken jaw and has been moved to IR.
Hamilton left Sunday night's game against the Washington Capitals early after being hit in the face with a puck. Clearly, it's caused notable damage. As a result of this, the Devils will be without their best defenseman for the next little bit.
The Devils signed Hamilton to an eight-year, $63 million contract this offseason, and thus far, he's certainly been living up to it. In 30 games, the 6'6" defenseman has seven goals and 20 points. Due to New Jersey's struggles as a collective unit, however, he also carries a minus-9 rating.
Nevertheless, here's to hoping Dougie can recover quickly and get back on the ice soon.
