Help On The Way For Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks have announced that J.T. Miller and Spencer Martin have both exited COVID-19 protocol.

With this news, both players should be ready to return for Tuesday night's contest against the Edmonton Oilers. This is very good timing, as they are currently tied with the Oilers in the Pacific Division. A win against them would put them ahead in points.

Miller has been one of the biggest names in the rumor mill, but that doesn't mean that the Canucks won't be thrilled to have him back. He's been their best player all season, and the truth is in his stats. In 39 games, he has 12 goals and 27 assists - which means he is averaging exactly a point-per-game.

Although Martin's return isn't as big as Miller's, it is still important. The Canucks have almost all of their goaltenders out and had to use an emergency backup one last game because of it. In his one appearance with Vancouver this season, he made 33 saves on 34 shots but lost in overtime. This was also his first NHL appearance since the 2016-17 season with the Florida Panthers, so it's fair to say he impressed.

Nevertheless, it's great news that the Canucks are starting to get some of their players. More should be following very shortly.
