Help On The Way For Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa Senators finally have some good news heading their way, as Tyler Ennis, Josh Norris, and Nick Paul have all exited COVID-19 protocol.
The Senators are currently being hit extremely hard by the virus, as they have six players in protocols. At least the totals are starting to go down for them now.
After signing a one-year, $900,000 contract this offseason, Ennis has been very solid for the Senators. In 26 games, he has a goal and 12 points. Although he sports a minus-7, a big reason for it is Ottawa's struggles as a collective unit. Still, he's been exceeding initial expectations thus far, so it's nice to see him ready to return.
Norris is continuing to improve and is cementing himself as one of Ottawa's best players. In 28 games this season, he has an impressive 14 goals to go along with eight assists. He also carries a plus-2 rating, which is certainly impressive given how much the Senators have struggled this season.
Unlike the two above, Paul has been having a lot of trouble this season. In 28 games, the alternate captain has four goals, two assists, and a minus-16 rating. There is certainly time for the forward to turn things around, so he's a player to keep a close eye on from here.
