Help On The Way For Senators
The Ottawa Senators are finally being handed some good news, as Thomas Chabot, Chris Tierney, Zach Sanford, and Dillon Heatherington have been removed from COVID-19 protocol.
The Senators have been dealing with a significant rise of COVID-19 cases, so getting more players back is a major plus for them. This is especially the case when remembering that they take on the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.
Out of the bunch, Chabot is of course the most notable. He's their best defenseman, and he thankfully now isn't set to miss any time. In 29 games this season, he has a goal to go along with 16 assists. Furthermore, while on a struggling Senators team, he also sports an even rating.
Tierney will be looking to rebound now that he's ready to return to action. In 29 games this campaign, he has five goals, two assists, and a minus-12 rating. This certainly isn't the kind of season the 27-year-old wanted to have, but especially because he's eligible for unrestricted free agency this summer.
Sanford was acquired from the St. Louis Blues this season, and so far, he hasn't been taking the league by storm with the Senators. In 29 games, he has five goals and two assists - just like Tierney.
As for Heatherington, this season is the first he's gotten into NHL action since the 2018-19 campaign with the Dallas Stars. In nine games with the Senators, he has zero points, seven penalty minutes, and a minus-1 rating.
