Hurricanes To Be Without Key Forward
Martin Necas of the Carolina Hurricanes has been placed in COVID-19 protocol.
This isn't the best of news for the Hurricanes, as Necas can certainly be deemed as one of their top forwards. With that, they also are set to play the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers this week. Needless to say, those two teams are very good, so losing an important forward for them is rough.
In 33 games this season, Necas has eight goals, 13 assists, and a plus-4 rating. His offensive production is a bit lower than last year, as he had 14 goals and 41 points in 53 games. However, even with this being the case, he's still been producing quite well again. It won't be easy for the Hurricanes to replace him in the lineup because of this.
Necas just recorded his 100th NHL point over the weekend against the Vancouver Canucks, but now, he will have to wait a little bit before being able to build on it.
