Major Help On The Way For Canucks
Thatcher Demko, Jaroslav Halak, and Conor Garland have all exited COVID-19 protocol.
This is huge news for the Canucks, but especially with both Demko and Halak set to return. They were down to just one available goalie earlier this week and had to have an emergency backup due to it. However, they now have their two primary goalies back, and that craziness can finally end. With Garland, they also have one of their top forwards again, too. That's not a bad bonus.
Although the Canucks have struggled this season, Demko has been very good. In 32 appearances, he has a 17-14-1 record, 2.62 goals-against average, and .917 save percentage. The Canucks are a lot harder to play against when they have him in goal, so naturally, we could see them win a bit more frequently from here.
With Halak coming back, they have their backup. Although he has a 1-4-2 record this campaign, he still sports a .915 save percentage and 2.59 goals-against average. With these kinds of numbers, he should have more wins, but he's been a bit unlucky in that regard.
Garland has been an excellent addition to the Canucks this season. In 37 games thus far, he has 10 goals to go along with 14 assists. With this kind of production, he's been one of their most consistent forwards, so they will be welcoming him back with open arms.
