Marc Bergevin Hired By Los Angeles Kings
The Los Angeles Kings have hired Marc Bergevin. He will be senior advisor to general manager Rob Blake.
Bergevin was just general manager of the Montreal Canadiens this season but ended up fired in November. This came just a few short months after the Canadiens made it to the Stanley Cup Final last postseason. However, their extremely poor start resulted in it. It certainly didn't take him long to find a new position.
Bergevin held this role with the Canadiens from 2012 to 2021. Overall, it's fair to say that his tenure with the team was full of ups and downs, but that seems to be the case with the majority of general managers at the NHL level.
Bergevin is joining the Kings at a time where things are starting to look up for the organization. After years of rebuilding, they currently have a 17-13-5 record and are fighting for a playoff spot. With that, they are known for their deep prospect pool, so there's a good chance things will get better for the team from here.
