Minnesota Wild Place Two Players On Waivers
The Minnesota Wild have placed forward Victor Rask and goaltender Zane McIntyre on waivers.
Out of the pair, it's apparent that Rask is the more notable name. In 21 games this season, the 28-year-old center has four goals and 10 points. However, over his last six games, he only had an assist and a minus-3 rating. With that, he's also been healthy scratched. In 54 games last season, he recorded 23 points, so he certainly is capable of producing solid offense. However, his $4 million cap hit will likely keep teams away.
McIntrye, a Minnesota native, just joined the organization on Tuesday. Because he was placed on waivers, it means that he signed an NHL deal with the franchise. In three appearances with the Tucson Roadrunners this season, he had a 2-1-0 record, and a .904 save percentage.
It is very interesting to see Rask being placed on waivers. It seems unlikely that a team who claim him because of his expensive cap hit, but perhaps a trade could be on the way if the Wild retain some salary.
